Quick Start Guide for Clinical Research Staff
Getting Started
Clinials is an AI-powered platform that helps clinical research teams organize information from study protocols and create structured clinical trial documents.
This guide explains how to get started, create a trial, review information, and generate trial materials.

Step 1: Create and Verify Your Account
Visit https://clinials.com/ and register using your work email address.
You will receive an account confirmation email containing a verification code. Enter the code to confirm your account and log in.
Sometimes these emails go to SPAM or get blocked by your IT Department. Get them to Whitelist Clinials.io.
Once logged in, you will see the Clinials homepage and the Create Trial option.
Step 2: Explore the Homepage
The homepage introduces the types of study materials Clinials can generate, including:
Operational protocol summaries and reports
Patient-facing documents
Visit worksheets
Other study preparation materials
You can also access the Help Centre by clicking the question-mark icon at the top of the page.
Step 3: Create Your First Trial
Click Create Trial.
You will have two options:
Select Files: Upload relevant PDF documents, such as study protocols, investigator brochures, lab or pharmacy manuals or reports.
Use Sample Protocol: Choose from the available sample protocols to learn how the platform works.
You can preview sample protocols before selecting one. Keep in mind that creating a trial from a sample protocol uses a trial credit.
After selecting your documents, click Create Trial.
Step 4: Review Your Trial Information
Once the trial is created, open it from the Trials dashboard.
Clinials organizes extracted information into sections, including:
Trial Summary
Contact Information
Trial Details
Conditions and Therapeutic Areas
Patient Profile
Trial Design
Activities and Assessments
Risks and Benefits
Review each section carefully.
Important: Always compare the information with the original study protocol. AI-generated information may contain missing or incorrect details.
Correct any errors and save your changes before moving forward.
Step 5: Create Trial Materials
Click Create Content.
Select the appropriate document category. Options include:
Recruit Participants
Prepare Your Study
Run Your Study
Plan & Budget
Communicate Your Study / Business Development
Regulatory & Ethics
Choose the document template you want to generate.
For example, under Prepare Your Study, you can select an Operational Protocol Synopsis.
Step 6: Select Language and Region
After selecting a template, click Select Languages.
Choose the appropriate option, such as English (United States), for your research site.
Select Quick Create to begin generating the document.
Document generation may take some time depending on the material being created.
Step 7: Review Generated Documents
Open the trial's Content Hub to locate generated materials.
Once the document is available, review it for accuracy, completeness, formatting, and consistency with the original protocol.
Generated clinical documents should be reviewed by appropriately qualified staff before being used in clinical or regulatory activities.
Step 8: Access Help and Training
If you need assistance, click the question-mark icon to open the Clinials Help Centre.
Available resources include quick guides, tutorials, sample reports, and frequently asked questions.
You can also access the Content Library to explore reusable templates, knowledge resources, and branding options.
Troubleshooting Tips
Trial taking longer than expected? Check the Trials dashboard before trying to create it again.
Missing or incorrect study information? Review the original protocol and correct the information where permitted.
Generated document not appearing? Check the trial's Content Hub. Refresh the browser. If it remains missing after the generation status has cleared, contact support@clinials.com before submitting another request.
Having difficulty viewing the platform on a phone? Try using a desktop or laptop for a better view.
Important Reminder
Clinials helps simplify clinical trial documentation, but AI-generated documents still require careful human review. Accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements should remain a priority throughout the process.
